We are excited to welcome you back to our office. We will be resuming regular dental and hygiene care starting on Monday, June 22, 2020. Below is some important information including what you need to know and can expect upon your return:
PRE-SCREENING
All patients will be pre-screened for COVID-19 remotely before your scheduled appointment by phone/text/email and again when you arrive. We ask that if you feel unwell or have been around someone who is unwell, please DO NOT ENTER our clinic. We will be happy to reschedule your appointment. Due to the need for all persons entering the clinic to be screened, walk-ins for any reason (bookings, payments etc.) will not be permitted at this time.
DAILY STAFF SCREENING
For your safety, our staff will be screened daily for any signs and symptoms of COVID-19. Please understand that if your dental health care provider is excused from the workplace for this reason, it may cause delays in your treatment. We will do our best to reschedule your appointment promptly following any staff absentees.
SOCIAL DISTANCING
Our waiting room is large and capable of following social distancing protocols. Please come to your appointment alone unless you require assistance or are bringing a child or children to their appointments. All people entering the clinic will be screened whether you have an appointment or are assisting someone. We are reducing the number of people in our clinic at one time until the foreseeable future. This means previously scheduled appointments may be rescheduled or their times modified. We will do our best to accommodate your needs. Please be patient with us.
WAITING ROOM
All magazines, newspapers and toys have been removed from our waiting area. The children’s area is now designated for ‘family bubbles’. We will have our TVs on and our complimentary WiFi will continue to be available. Our password is healthysmile. We ask that if you choose to use an electronic device while you wait that you use hand sanitizer before entering our treatment area. The use of electronic devices will not be permitted in the treatment area. Our water cooler will no longer be available for public use.
HAND HYGIENE AND MASKS
Hand sanitizer will be available in various areas of the clinic. Hand sanitizer MUST be used upon enterings the clinic, after using any electronic devices, before using any office pens and before leaving the clinic. It is recommended that you wear a non-medical or community mask to your appointment if you are able to do so. We encourage all those entering the clinic to practice good hand hygiene, cough etiquette and social distancing.
RESTROOMS
Our public restrooms will be locked at all times. We encourage you to use the restroom before you arrive, however we will have a key if you need to use our facilities during your visit. Washrooms will be cleaned regularily. Our automatic hand dryers will be turned off and we will have disposable, compostable hand towels for you use.
DURING YOUR APPOINTMENT
You will notice that we will be wearing an extra layer of protective gear that is changed/disinfected after every patient. All patients will be required to do a 30 second pre-rinse before your treatment. Hand sanitizer will be available for your use after your appointment.
PAYMENTS
We encourage you to use our touchless payment methods however we will still continue to accept all regular forms of payment. To reduce paper handling between staff and patients, all receipts and monthly statements will be sent via email when possible. Our secure dropbox is available outside of the main entrance for payments. PPE surcharges may be necessary for your treatment.
PATIENT EXPECTATIONS
Our strict no-show/missed appointment policy is effective immediately. Due to the high demand of patients requiring appointments, a no-show fee of $100.00 will automatically be charged to your account for failed/missed appointments.
We at BERWICK FAMILY DENTISTRY INC. commit to upholding our rigorous sterilization procedures between patients and maintain the high level of dental care you have come to expect from our team. We are taking these extra precautionary measures to protect you and our staff. We apologize for any inconveniences our new safety measures may cause. We look forward to seeing you soon!!
